Welcome to the Minnesota Peace Project.
We deplore the massacre of Israeli civilians and taking of hostages by Hamas on October 7. We were horrified and grieve the lives lost and the pain Israelis now live with. Similarly, we deplore the vengeance Israeli leaders are inflicting on the entire population of Gaza – cutting off water, food, electricity, medical supplies, and fuel and making them endure incessant bombing and destruction.
There must be an immediate cease-fire.
The crimes committed by Hamas must not be used to justify war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, to expand hostilities to neighboring countries, or to draw the US deeper yet into another endless war.
The number of dead in Gaza increases by the hundreds each day, far surpassing the number of Israelis killed on October 7. The Palestinians fear a new Nakba. After the Holocaust, Jews and others vowed “Never again!” Let our message in 2024 be “Never again for anyone!”

The Minnesota Peace Projects believes that we as a nation must resolve international and domestic conflict with diplomacy, build an infrastructure of peace and prosperity, and dismantle the infrastructure that encourages militaristic responses to conflict.
